Amitraz, also known as acaroid, is an organic compound, the molecular formula is C19H23N3. Formamidine,
which came on the market in the 1970s, can be obtained by amination of monformamidine with CH3-C7H13-N=CHOC2H5.
The product is colorless acicular crystal. Insoluble in water, soluble in acetone, xylene. Oral LD50 of mice: 600 ~ 800 mg/kg.
It can be used as an acaricide for agriculture and livestock, especially for eggs, nymphs and adults.
